I Want to Live Forever

I want to live forever
In the spine of a book
Upon a rack in a library
On which all can look.

I want it filled with poems
Written by myself
I want it to be read
Not get dusty on a shelf.

I don’t want it to be skimmed
I want it to be read
The poems between the lines
To be seen when I am dead.

Becuase a poem isn’t about
The words upon the page
It’s the words that will appear
In the emotions they engage.
