Honesty

Okay, this one is for the Daily Challenge. Today’s topic is Honesty, so I wrote a Terza Rima Sonnet that went in a different direction.

We all live our lives in such a frantic rush
We always end up loosing sight of our goals
And yet we complain of those “out of touch”

It’s almost as though we all live in small holes
You keep saying you’re fine but it’s all a lie
Slowly washing away our lives and our souls

You tell them you’re happy yet live in a sty
The hustle and bustle of everyday life
You tell them “don’t worry” then go home and cry

So we accept all the pain, anger, and strife
While sitting our dreams up to rot on a shelf
Until all we feel is the slow twisting knife

So you should try spreading the passion and wealth
Always lying, you’re only fooling yourself.

    I loved these lines!
